HENDERSON, Nev. - UC Riverside's men's and women's basketball teams have arrived in Henderson, Nevada for this week's Big West Tournament at the newly-minted Dollar Loan Center. 

Riding a seven-game win streak, Nicole Powell's women's team enters as the four seed and begins on Wednesday afternoon against UC Santa Barbara at 2:30 p.m. after earning a season sweep against the Gauchos for the first time since the 2015-16 season. 

Keilanei Cooper, the program's all-time leader in games played, was named All-Big West First Team after ranking in the top 15 in conference play in scoring and top 10 in steals. Jada Holland, who ranked in the top five in assists and assist/turnover ratio, earned Honorable Mention distinction. 

With a second regular season in the Inland Empire under her belt, Powell has engineered a six-game turnaround from last season. 

Mike Magpayo's men's team has won four of its last six entering this week's Big West Tournament, kicking things off on Thursday evening against third-seeded Hawaii at 8:30 p.m. After the teams' initial meeting on the islands was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols, the Highlanders scored a 64-59 win to knock the Rainbow Warriors off their perch on ESPNU. 

Dominick Pickett was named the Big West Best Hustle Player for the second consecutive year, also earning Honorable Mention. Callum McRae also earned Honorable Mention after leading the conference in double doubles and defensive rebounding, while Zyon Pullin earned All-Big West Second Team.
