Men’s Tennis Drops Close Match in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. – UC Riverside fell in a close 4-3 decision on April 13 to Pacific at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. 
 
Joshua Roth won in both doubles and singles for the fourth time this season and third time since March 30. Roth teamed up with Antreas Djakouris on court two for a 6-4 win, then fought through a tiebreaker in his first set on five before finishing off his singles match in straight sets. 
 
UCR has now won five of their last #5 singles matches. 
 
Justin Lamy enjoyed a testing straight-set win in singles of his own on six, winning a 7-6 (4) first set before breezing through set two for the 7-6 (4), 6-1 win. The Highlanders are now victorious in four of their last seven #6 singles bouts. 
 
Daniel Velek picked up singles win number 10 on the season with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court three. 
 
UC Riverside stays in Northern California for a 2:00 p.m. match with UC Davis on April 14 before returning to the SRC Tennis Courts on April 18 for a Senior Day showdown with UC Santa Barbara.
