Baseball Falls to Matadors in Series Opener

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside opened a three-game series with CSUN on Thursday, falling 6-0 at the Riverside Sports Complex.

Mason Grace went 2 for 2 on the night with a pair of singles in the third and sixth innings, both through the left side. 

Jacob Badawi's hit streak reached eight games after a one-out single through the left side in the eighth inning. Joey Nicolai singled on UCR's next at-bat to load the bases, but Dylan Orick grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the threat. 

Tyler Frazier went 6.0 innings with five strikeouts in game one against the Matadors. Frazier has now fanned five batters in two of his last three appearances.
