Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside played its final home game of the 2022 season at the Riverside Sports Complex on Friday night, falling 9-5 in game two of the Crosstown Showdown.
Andrew Rivas' late-season offensive surge continued in game two with the Lancers, as the freshman went 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI in his first home finale as a Highlander. Rivas' Friday night was his second three-hit game on the year and first since March 10 against Portland.
The true freshman accounted for UCR's first hit of the ballgame in the first inning and singled to kickstart a two-run third for the Highlanders. UC Riverside followed up the two-run frame with a three-run fourth to cut back into California Baptist's lead after a four-run visitor half of the third.
Jacob Badawi scored two runs for the third time in his last five games and second time this weekend, going 1 for 5 with an RBI in addition to the runs scored.
UCR will complete the three-game series with a 2:00 p.m. first pitch on Saturday afternoon from California Baptist's Totman Stadium.
