The University of California, Riverside (UCR) Highlanders traveled to the other side of the city for a Crosstown Showdown match against local rivals, the California Baptist University (CBU) Lancers. 

Alexandra Hargrave went right to work scoring in the 7' off an assist from McKenzie Moore. She struck again in the 14', finding the bottom left corner of the net off an assist from Aleeyah Feliciano. 

A few minutes later, the Lancers answered back, breaking onto the scoreboard in the 17' with a goal right into the lower middle area of the net. 

Minutes before the first period ended, California Baptist leveled the game with a second goal in the bottom left corner of the net. 

The Highlanders entered halftime knotted with CBU 2-2. 

A few minutes after halftime, the Lancers struck again, scoring in the top left corner of the net to bring CBU into their first lead of the game, 3-2. 

Leyna Wood tied the game in the 64' off of McKenzie Moore's second assist of the fay, 3-3

The Highlanders battled for an edge in the final 25 minutes, but the second half finished before either team could secure a win. The final score was a 3-3 tie. 

Next, UC Riverside will play at home against New Mexico on Sunday, September 11 at 11 AM.
