
Highlanders Finish Impressive 18 Holes at Kapolei Invitational

KAPOLEI, Hawai'i - UC Riverside finished off an impressive first 18 holes of the Kapolei Invitational on Tuesday at the Kapolei Golf Course.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Riverside got out to a strong start, securing 25 pars and 11 birdies in a strong performance on the back nine after all five Highlanders started on 10. UCR shot a 286 (-2) for the day.Â
- Chanhee Ryu parred three of his first four holes on the back nine while Mark Gao parred five of his first six and Josh Hu five of his first seven holes.
- Cortez Herrera finished his round strong with five pars on the front nine, going birdie, birdie, ace, par to finish.Â
- Nik Kittilson was bogey free on seven of nine holes on the front nine, carding a 71 (-1) for the day.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Cortez Herrera was one of four Highlanders to shoot at or under par on Tuesday, thanks to his hole-in-one on eight en route to a season-low 72 (E).Â
- Kittilson recorded his second round under par this season and first since carding a 70 (-2) in round two of the Nick Watney Invitational.Â
- Hu tied a season low with his third 71 (-1) of the fall season.Â
- Ryu has now shot at or under par in his last three rounds dating back to the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational.Â
