KAPOLEI, Hawai'i - UC Riverside is through 36 holes at the Kapolei Invitational, held at the Kapolei Golf Course following Wednesday's second round.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Mark Gao enjoyed a hot start to round two, birdying four of his first eight holes to be 2-under at the turn.
Josh Hu, Cortez Herrera and Nik Kittilson were all at or under par on the front nine, led by Kittilson's 2-under with seven pars and birdies on two and eight.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

Hu recorded UCR's third eagle of the tournament, going 2-under on the par 4 ninth hole.
Kittilson parred seven of his first eight holes for the day.
Hu, Kittilson and Herrera recorded seven pars each in each of their front nine performances while Hu and Herrera recorded their second rounds at or under par of the tournament.
