Men’s Basketball Falls at Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. – UC Riverside played its final Power 5 contest on Wednesday at Beasley Coliseum with an 86-49 loss to Washington State.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Isaiah Moses responded to a Washington State three with a triple of his own at 5:53 of the first half. Vladimer Salaridze sank his first triple of the night a half minute later. 
  • UCR held the Cougars to 0 of 4 from the field on their final four shots while the Highlanders finished the half shooting 5 of 8.  
  • UC Riverside went on an 8-0 in the second half with back-to-back buckets from Wil Tattersall while holding the Cougars without a point for two minutes. The Highlanders once more held Washington State empty for their final four shots of the night, ending the game on a strong defensive note. 
  • Moses and Nate Pickens combined to go a perfect 12 for 12 from the free throw line in the second half. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Moses recorded his sixth game this season in double figures scoring and has now scored in double figures against all three of the Highlanders' Pac-12 opponents this season. 
  • UC Riverside shot 81 percent from the free throw line and went 13 for 15 in the second half alone.
