LONG BEACH, Calif. - UC Riverside hit the road for the first time in the 2023 season on Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Long Beach State at the Rhodes Tennis Center. 

The senior/sophomore duo of Sofia Lazzaroni and Niki Shahbazi came the closest in Wednesday's doubles action, falling 6-3 on court 2. Lazzaroni went unfinished in singles play, but the Highlanders showed promise with its young corps again. 

Kamya Nair took set one in a dominant 6-1 fashion before dropping set two and going unfinished down 1-0 in set three. 

UC Riverside returns to the SRC Tennis Courts on Monday, February 6 for a 1:00 p.m. match with Portland State.
