PHOENIX, Ariz. - UC Riverside men's tennis hit the road on Wednesday for a doubleheader in the desert, falling 6-1 at Grand Canyon before bouncing back with a 4-0 win over Ottawa. 

UCR dropped the doubles point to the Lopes but showed promise in singles play. The Highlanders fell in straight sets on courts one through three, but Justin Lamy and Aarav Sane, both of whom were leading in doubles at the time of abandonment, were tied in singles upon the match's conclusion. 

Lamy was on the verge of tying his match after falling 3-6 in set one, while Sane was tied after taking his first set 6-4. 

UC Riverside's continuation into the desert concluded with a 4-0 win against NAIA Ottawa. Lamy was nothing less than dominant in UCR's second match of the day, not conceding a point through doubles and singles play with wins of 6-0 in doubles and 6-0, 6-0 on court four. Matthew Yanuck and Ryan Huynh were equally impressive with convincing singles wins after the Highlanders eased their way past doubles. 

UCR will take 12 days of much-needed rest before hosting Azusa Pacific at the SRC Tennis Courts on Monday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m.
