SACRAMENTO, Calif. - UC Riverside women's tennis dropped a 4-0 match to Sacramento State on Thursday afternoon at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts.
Sofia Lazzaroni went unfinished in singles play on two after a long battle in set one that her opponent won with a 9-7 win in the tiebreaker.
Maya Youssef also went unfinished in singles after going up one set to none, as did Sydney Tran.
Brionna Nguyen took a 1-0 lead in singles for the second day in a row, but could not battle back and dropped the next two sets. Niki Shahbazi avenged her narrow second set defeat on Wednesday to force a third set against her Thursday opponent, falling 6-2 in set three.
UC Riverside will return to Big West play to finish out the regular season, playing its penultimate match on Saturday, April 22 with an 11:00 a.m. first serve at Cal State Fullerton.
