RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped Sunday's series finale with UC Santa Barbara, 18-4, at the Riverside Sports Complex.
UCR found an early response less than 24 hours removed from Anthony McFarland's go-ahead three-run home run on Saturday night, this time with back-to-back RBI from Jacob Badawi and Mason Grace.
Badawi doubled to bring in Dominic Martinez, whose leadoff double on the first pitch of the second marked the Chino Hills product's eighth game out of his last nine with a hit. Grace tied the game on the next at-bat with a single into left field that gave him his seventh RBI in his last eight contests - a stretch that has included back-to-back walk-off walks.
Anthony McFarland recorded his fourth RBI of the series as a consolation for the Highlanders in Sunday's series finale, while Ryker Billingsley plated his first career run on McFarland's single.
UC Riverside will host California Baptist in Tuesday evening's Crosstown Showdown at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+ before traveling to CSU Bakersfield for the weekend.
