PROVO, Utah - Mylan Hirata is now tied for sixth at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational as UCR shot a 3-under 285 as a team after day two at the Timpanogos Golf Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Hirata and Gabrielle Kiger holed both of UCR's eagles on the day, both on 10. Hirata and Vanessa Betancourt were both bogey-free on the back nine, shooting 67 (-5) and 70 (-2), respectively.
Riley Shin shot even par after a 79 (+7) on day one, as she, Janna Andaya and Maleyna Gregorio all bested their respective first round scores.
Vanessa Betancourt and Hirata both made sizable jumps on the leaderboard, jumping 19 and 18 spots, respectively.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

Hirata's 67 (-5) was a career-low for the fifth year from La Habra Heights. She's one shot outside the top five heading into Tuesday's final round.
Kiger was almost bogey-free on the front nine, but birdied four out of nine holes to be -3 at the turn. Shin also recorded all three of her birdies on the front nine.
Vanessa Betancourt's 70 (-2) was thanks to an almost bogey-free round.
