Women’s Golf Finishes 36 Holes in Washington

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - UC Riverside completed two rounds of play at the Leadership and Golf Invitational on Monday at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington. Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vanessa Betancourt was dialed in on day one and sits in a tie for sixth after 36 holes at 3-under 141. Betancourt fired seven birdies en route to a first round 67 (-5) before posting a 74 (+2) in round two.Â
- Maleyna Gregorio parred six holes on the front nine in round one as she and Mitzi Duarte parred holes two, four, five, six and eight to open the day.Â
- Gabrielle Kiger followed a 82 (+10) in round one with a 78 (+6) in round two, thanks to three of her four birdies coming in round two.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- UCR as a team shot even par on the eighth hole in round two after posting +2 on eight in round one.Â
- Betancourt posted her second consecutive round under 70 in round one following a career-low 65 (-7) in round three of the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational. Â
