
Women’s Golf Wraps up at Chambers Bay

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - UC Riverside wrapped up the Leadership and Golf Invitational on Tuesday with round three at the Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vanessa Betancourt enjoyed a strong start after teeing off on 14, going par, par, par, par and birdie to open the day. Betancourt finished her three rounds in Washington with a birdie on 13.Â
- Gabrielle Kiger birdied 15 to start the round and finished just as strong with two birdies and two pars on holes 11 through 14 to cap her tournament play.Â
- All nine birdies for UC Riverside in round three came on the back nine.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- UCR posted its lowest round of the three at Chambers Bay with a 308 on Tuesday.
- Betancourt finished in 20th after shooting a 78 (+6), ending her two-day event at 3-over 219. Kiger followed up with a 79th-place finish, shooting 74 (+2). Kiger, Mylan Hirata and Mitzi Duarte all posted their lowest rounds of the tournament in Tuesday's final 18 holes.Â
- Hirata parred eight of nine holes on the front nine. Â
