
Shin Tied for 12th after a Round in Idaho

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Riley Shin is tied for 12th and UC Riverside is in eighth after 18 holes at the Coeur D'Alene Invitational.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shin teed off on one and birdied the hole before parring the next four and ultimately shooting a 71 (E) for the round. The freshman was 1-under at the turn.Â
- Vanessa Betancourt also teed off on one and birdied holes one and three en route to a 73 (+2) for the day.Â
- Maleyna Gregorio and Mitzi Duarte are competing as individuals in Idaho and carded a 75 (+4) and 76 (+5), respectively.Â
- Mylan Hirata posted a 76 (+5) for her lowest round since carding a 71 in round three of the Timpanogos Collegiate Classic.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Nine of UC Riverside's 14 birdies on the day came on the front nine and three of the five Highlanders in the lineup birdied the first hole.Â
- Both of UCR's individual competitors in Idaho are in the top 45 after 18 holes.Â
- Shin's 71 (E) is a new career low for the freshman after her 72 in round two of the season-opening Timpanogos Collegiate Classic.Â
