
Two Highlanders in Top 15 through 36 Holes in Idaho

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Vanessa Betancourt and Riley Shin are in the top 15 on the leaderboard after another round at the Coeur D'Alene Collegiate Invitational.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Betancourt shot a 69 (-1) in round two and carded six birdies in Monday's second round. She was 2-under at the turn before entering Tuesday's final round in a tie for eighth.Â
- Riley Shin is the second top-15 Highlander after shooting a 74 (+3) on Monday. The freshman is tied for 15th thanks to birdies on six and nine after a clean first four holes of the day.Â
- Janna Andaya shot a season-low 73 (+2) on Tuesday with a pair of birdies to start her day.Â
- UCR shot a 292 on the day and is fourth in the 13-team field with 28 birdies.
- Gabrielle Kiger shot a 76 (+5) on the day with birdies on four, seven, 11 and 13.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Betancourt's round was her third sub-70 round of the season after round one at the Leadership and Golf Invitational and round three at the Timpanogos Collegiate Classic.Â
- UCR jumped a spot on the team leaderboard heading into Tuesday's third round.Â
- Mitzi Duarte shot a 74 (+3) in round two of individual competition and enters the final 18 holes in a tie for 34th.Â
