
Betancourt Ties for Fifth at Coeur D’Alene Invitational

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Vanessa Betancourt tied for fifth overall as UC Riverside concluded play at the Coeur D'Alene Collegiate Invitational. Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Betancourt fired a 70 (-1) on Tuesday for her second consecutive round under par, keeping the card clean for the first four holes before birdying five.Â
- Janna Andaya was UCR's next highest finisher in a tie for 43rd after shooting a 78 (+7).Â
- Mylan Hirata shot a 74 (+3) for her lowest score of the tournament. Hirata and Riley Shin both turned in top-50 finishes.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Hirata and Maleyna Gregorio shot their lowest rounds of the tournament, each posting a 74 (+3).Â
- Betancourt earned her second top-10 finish in her last three tournaments overall after tying for sixth at last year's inaugural National Golf Invitational in Arizona. The senior averaged a 4.04 on par 4s and 4.67 on par 5s in Idaho, both in the top nine in the individual field. She was also one of six players overall with 13 birdies.Â
