INDIANAPOLIS - UC Riverside closed out the Hampton Inn Invitational on Saturday morning with a 3-0 defeat to Oral Roberts. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Delaney Tate accounted for two kills and Beatriz Silva two assists as UCR trailed 11-15 at the first media break of the first set. 
• The Highlanders went on a 4-0 run late in set one to take an 18-17 lead with a pair of kills from Mylei Vargas-Deason in addition to kills from Tate and Sydnee Rowe. 
• Both sides traded 7-1 runs late in set one. UC Riverside had the latter run, fighting off six set points thanks to an ace from Vargas-Deason and a kill from Rowe before an eventual set defeat.
• UC Riverside was just as close behind in set two, going on a 9-5 run midway through to take an 11-10 lead on a kill from Tate. 
• UCR hit a team-high .296 in set three, led by five kills from Tate. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Tylee Fuller recorded 14 of her 20 digs in set one, while Vargas-Deason recorded six of her nine in set two. Vargas-Deason was a kill and a dig away from her first double double of the year.  
• Delaney Tate also came close to a double double in the weekend finale, falling one dig short while racking up 12 kills.
