Men’s Basketball Releases Full 2023-24 Schedule

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside Men's Basketball has released its full 2023-24 schedule.
Reigning Big West Coach of the Year Mike Magpayo has the Highlanders ready for another challenging season, just one year removed from UCR's Division I era program-record 22 wins, including 14 victories in Big West play.

"This schedule will challenge our program like never before," Magpayo said. "We have multiple programs on our schedule that won 20 games last year in Montana State and UC Merced, in addition to a return game with Portland and our annual Crosstown Showdown with California Baptist. We have challenged ourselves over the last four years in the non-conference schedule to purposely prepare ourselves for the rigors of the Big West and anticipate another exciting season from the start."
UCR's 2023-24 slate features Power 5 road trips to North Carolina, Utah, UCLA and Washington State. The Highlanders are facing at least one Pac-12 school for the eighth straight year, a run that includes a viral buzzer beater in November 2021 at Arizona State and Magpayo's first Division I win in 2020 against Washington in Las Vegas.
The Highlanders will also play the back end of home-and-home series against Portland (away) and Idaho (home), in addition to traveling to Bozeman, Montana for a game against the Bobcats and a neutral-site contest against Green Bay. UC Riverside will renew the Crosstown Showdown on December 16 when California Baptist comes to the SRC Arena for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff on ESPN+. UCR rounds out its non-conference slate with home games against UC Merced (November 7), Bethesda (November 26) and North Dakota (December 3).
UC Riverside will begin Big West play on the road for the first time since 2019-20, traveling to UC Irvine on December 28 before coming home for games against UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis. UCR will host Senior Night on March 7 against Cal State Fullerton before the regular season concludes on March 9 at UC Santa Barbara.
