UC Riverside Draws with Toreros

SAN DIEGO - UC Riverside played to a scoreless 0-0 draw with San Diego on Friday night at Torero Stadium.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shots were few and far between for UC Riverside in the opening 45 minutes, as the Highlanders didn't see an attempt until Brendan Clark's off-target shot in the 21st minute. Christian Ceja added UCR's second first-half shot in the 44th minute, also missing the target.Â
- UC Riverside got its first corner in the 64th minute, leading to an off-target shot from Aleksandar Vukovic. Clark and Armando Ibarra Jr. fired back-to-back shots in the 67th minute.
- UC Riverside went a man up in the 54th minute for a second yellow on San Diego, as UCR threwÂ
- UCR's back line stopped a sure Torero go-ahead goal in the 90th minute, leading to a Highlander yellow card in a match that featured three per side.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- UC Riverside recorded nine of its 11 shots in the second half, all of which came following a San Diego red card in the 54th minute.Â
- Carlos Gonzalez recorded his 11th clean sheet as a Highlander and is now tied with Edwyn Gutierrez for second all-time in program history.Â
