LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UC Riverside's freshman class picked up key wins, but the Highlanders dropped a 4-2 match to Hawai'i on Friday's day two of the UNLV Quad at the Fertitta Tennis Center.    

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lucas Ibarrondo Suarez and Hugo DeGrande grabbed a win on No. 3. DeGrande went 2-0 against the Rainbow Warriors later on with a singles win on No. 5. 
• Joey Zhou grabbed his first collegiate singles win with a victory on No. 6.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• DeGrande is the second Highlander to go 2-0 in a match at the UNLV Quad after Aarav Sane on Friday. 
• UCR picked up its first doubles win on No. 3 of the season and have now won a doubles match in three of its last four matches.

• UC Riverside will close the UNLV Quad on Sunday with a 2:30 p.m. first serve against host UNLV.
