SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped a 3-0 decision at UC Santa Barbara on Friday night at the UCSB Events Center.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Trinity Sheridan and Sophia Ewalefo combined for nine of UCR's 19 kills on the evening while Brianna Bowyer hit .200 for the match with three kills.  
• UC Riverside stayed within two points of the Gauchos for most of the early portion of set one. The Highlanders found brief momentum early in set two with a 4-1 run to go up 9-7.  
• UCR jumped out to a third straight early lead in Friday night's match after Santa Barbara committed a trio of errors early in the third.  
• A 6-2 run powered UCR to a 9-7 lead after a Gaucho service error. Within that run for the Highlanders was one of Ewalefo's four kills on the night and an ace from Beatriz Silva.  

NOTABLES 

• Friday marked the third match this year that UCR recorded three or more solo blocks, all of which have come in the last five outings.  
• The Highlanders recorded at least seven total blocks for the seventh time this season, now racking up 18 in their last three matches.
