RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside opened the home season on Friday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts with a pair of 4-0 defeats to BYU.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Newcomers Hugo DeGrande and Lucas Ibarrondo-Suarez teamed up at No. 3 in the morning match and fell 4-6. Ryan Huynh and Aarav Sane went unfinished at No. 2, tied 5-5. 
• DeGrade and Huynh went unfinished at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. 
• UCR played the second match of the day much closer in singles with Huynh and Justin Lamy forcing tie breaks and Joshua Roth going to a third set at singles No. 1.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Lamy forced a tiebreak at singles No. 2 before being up 4-3 in set two at the point of abandonment.
