UCR Wraps Up the Regular Season with Defeat in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Riverside (4-19, 0-8 Big West) dropped Saturday's regular season finale at UC Santa Barbara by the score of 4-0 at the Arnhold Tennis Center.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Niki Shahbazi and Sydney Tran were unfinished on court three, only trailing 3-2.  
  • Tran was equally headstrong in singles play, trailing 4-3 in set one before the match went unfinished.  
  • Crystal Kim also kept her opponent on her heels in singles competition, falling 6-4 in singles before the match was declared unfinished in set two. 
  • Kamya Nair was the third Highlander to go unfinished in singles play.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Shahbazi and Tran have now gone unfinished in two of their last three doubles matches.

  • UCR now turns its attention to the Big West Championship, to be held April 24-28 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
