RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside (11-21, 5-7 Big West) secured a series sweep of UC Davis (12-21, 3-9) on Sunday with a convincing 4-0 win over the Aggies at Amy S. Harrison Field.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Briza Blanco evaded an early jam with two Aggies on in the first but turned away UC Davis on a 2-2 pitch for out number three. 
• Elise Nishimura and Kamryn Davis each went 2 for 3 on the day with Nishimura racking up two RBIs and Davis plating two runs. 
• UC Riverside jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead through three innings on the bat of Nishimura and Garewal.  
• Nishimura's two-run RBI single was a mirror image of how the true freshman walked off the Aggies in Saturday's game two.  
• Blanco put the Aggies down in order in the fifth and came up big in the sixth, stranding a pair of Aggies on the base path with the Highlanders nursing a comfortable 4-0 lead. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• UCR's sweep was clinched primarily on the arm of Blanco, who posted a complete game shutout with four strikeouts and just four hits allowed.  
• Nishimura recorded two RBIs for the second straight game. 
• UC Riverside secured its first series win of the season, second over UC Davis in three years and first sweep of the Aggies since 2016.

• UC Riverside will finish a six-game home stand next weekend when the Highlanders welcome Hawai'i to Amy S. Harrison Field. First pitch of the series is scheduled for Friday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.
