NEW ORLEANS, La. - UC Riverside continued the Pelican Invitational on Friday afternoon from Tulane's Devlin Fieldhouse with a 3-1 come-from-behind win over Louisiana Tech.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UC Riverside got five kills apiece from Trinity Sheridan and Carissa Wiles in a first set that went well past 25 points, ending in a tough 30-28 defeat to kick off UCR's first all-time meeting with the Bulldogs. 
• Set one featured 12 ties and four lead changes, while McKinley Chase continued her early season spotlight performance in the Big Easy with eight of the Highlanders' 16 first set assists to augment three digs.  
• Chase, who recorded a career-best 26 assists on Thursday against Tulane, put up 21 on Friday against Louisiana Tech.  
• The Highlanders stormed back to capture sets two and three, taking a 2-1 lead into the fourth frame. UCR hit .246 across sets two and three, leading wire to wire in the third frame while charging ahead for a 25-15 win.  
• UC Riverside finished off the match with a .571 hitting clip from Sheridan in the fourth frame while hitting .407 as a team for the set.  

NOTABLES 

• UCR held the Bulldogs to -.062 hitting in a dominant third set performance.  
• Two of UCR's top three kill performances have come at the Pelican Invitational after racking up 56 against Louisiana Tech, the Highlanders' most in a four-set match this season.  
• UC Riverside has now outhit its opponent in two of the last three matches.
