
UC Riverside Falls in Overtime Thriller at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The UC Riverside Highlanders battled through 19 lead changes and 10 ties, but came up short in overtime. They fell 112-100 to Cal Poly on Thursday afternoon at Mott Athletics Center. The Highlanders now stand at 18-11 overall and 11-6 in Big West play.

- Barrington Hargress led UC Riverside with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, playing 41 minutes in the high-scoring battle.
- Nate Pickens added 24 points, going 11 for 12 from the free-throw line while grabbing six rebounds.
- Isaiah Moses contributed 16 points, four assists and three steals, while Kaleb Smith scored 13 points, connecting on three three-pointers.
- The Highlanders led 47-43 at halftime after shooting 44.4% from the field in the opening period.
- UC Riverside fought through multiple lead changes in the second half, but saw Cal Poly force overtime after tying the game at 95-95 in the final seconds.
- Cal Poly pulled away in the extra period, outscoring the Highlanders 17-5, as UC Riverside shot just 16.7% in overtime.
- Hargress joined the 1,000 point club as he now has 1,007 points as a Highlander.
- The Highlanders shot 87.1% from the free-throw line (27-31), but were outscored 58-40 in the paint.
