HONOLULU, Hawai'i — UC Riverside used a dominant second-half shooting performance and clutch free-throw shooting to earn an 82-76 victory over Hawai'i on Thursday night at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Highlanders improved to 19-11 overall and 12-6 in Big West play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Barrington Hargress led the way with a game-high 25 points, shooting 9-for-19 from the field and 6-for-7 from the free-throw line, while adding four rebounds and two assists.
Isaiah Moses and Kaleb Smith each contributed 14 points, with both knocking down two three pointers each.
Nate Pickens added nine points and four rebounds.
UC Riverside trailed 36-35 at halftime but responded with a strong second half, shooting 56.5% from the field and 85% from the free-throw line to pull away late.
Back to back three pointers hit by Smith and Moses gave the Highlanders a nine point lead with 10 minutes left in the game.
The game saw seven ties and 11 lead changes, with the Highlanders controlling the remaining 15 minutes left on the clock.

With 604 points so far into the season, Hargress now holds fourth place in the Highlanders all-time single-season scoring record.
The Highlanders outrebounded Hawai'i 31-30, securing eight offensive boards that led to key second-chance points.
