Highlanders prepare for weekend-heavy slate of competition
RIVERSIDE, Calif – UC Riverside prepares for a weekend-heavy slate of competition as April continues to wind down.Â
Home softball draws to a close for UCR Softball, who host their annual Pride Game on Saturday and Senior Day on Sunday. UC Riverside will honor Maddie Heinlin, Kamryn Davis and Allysa Alano in their final game at Amy S. Harrison Field.Â
Men's and Women's Tennis head to San Diego for the Big West Tennis Championships, while Baseball treks north for three games in the state capital against Sacramento State.Â
Finally, Track & Field hosts its second and final home meet of 2025 with the Chris Rinne Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the UCR Track Stadium.Â

In Case You Missed It...
- UC Riverside Student-Athlete of the Week Kyan Thomas took bronze in the triple jump elite invite at this past week's Mt. SAC Relays, surpassing his previous NCAA qualifying mark.
- David Gibbs hit .500, slugged .583, sported a .500 on-base percentage and recorded seven total bases against UC San Diego this past weekend. The Palm Desert native came up clutch in Sunday's 7-6 comeback win over the Tritons with his eighth-inning go-ahead RBI double. Gibbs also recorded two steals and led UCR in hits on the weekend.Â
- Ashraf Abdelmagid recorded just the fifth men's outdoor 5k time under 14 minutes in UCR Track & Field history and first since Arman Irani in 2021.
