BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Highlanders entered today's game against the Roadrunners with a chance to win their first conferences series since Hawai'i. However, CSU Bakersfield had other plans and took game three this afternoon, 3-1.
The Highlanders sent
Nolan Milliman to the mound looking for this third win of the year. He went 3.1 innings giving up two runs, one earned, and took the loss. Josh Torres followed with one inning and
Matthew O'Brien relieved him. For O'Brien it was his second appearance of the series, as last night he pitched a combine shutout with
Matthew Flores. O'Brien surrendered the third run in the effort.
UCR scored its only run of the game in the eighth inning on a
Landon Nunes RBI ground out that scored
David Whittle. That is all they could get as the Roadrunners kept the Highlanders' bats in check.
Next up for UC Riverside is a three game set against UC Santa Barbara at The Plex. Game one will start at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+
