RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside men's basketball head coach Gus Argenal announced the signings of BJ Kolly, Jailen Daniel-Dalton, and De'Undrae Perteete "Dre" Perteete, three impact transfers who bring size, versatility, and experience to the Highlanders' lineup ahead of the 2025–26 season.
BJ Kolly is a 6-foot-10 forward who spent two seasons at Western Washington and was most recently a Montana State Bobcat. A former GNAC Freshman of the Year, Kolly built a reputation as one of the region's premier rim protectors and most efficient interior scorers. In his three year collegiate career, Kolly has tallied a total 494 points, 266 rebounds, and 85 blocks.
"BJ is extremely talented and gifted for his size," said coach Argenal. "He can handle the ball and has a great feel for the game. We love his ability to rebound out of his area, his aggression defensively, and his overall experience at the college level. We look forward to growing his game and helping him to have a stellar senior season."
Jailen Daniel-Dalton, a 6-foot-6 forward, joins the Highlanders from San Francisco State, where he was named to the All-CCAA Second Team in 2023–24. He averaged 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds across 31 games, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range. He recorded six double-doubles, including a 19-point, 12-rebound effort against Concordia Nebraska that earned him CCAA Player of the Week honors.
Prior to San Francisco State, Daniel-Dalton spent two seasons at Gavilan College, where he earned First Team All-Conference, Defensive First Team, and CCCAA All-State Honorable Mention recognition. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while leading the conference in scoring and rebounding, and finishing top five in assists, steals, and blocks.
"Jailen is someone that my teams have competed against in the past," said coach Argenal. "He is the ultimate competitor and teammate. We are constantly looking for players that can play multiple positions and JDD is the perfect fit. Not only does he have an expansive skillset offensively, but he can guard three to four positions. He will fit perfectly into our versatile style and will add shooting, scoring, and athleticism."
Originally from Fort Polk, Louisiana, Daniel-Dalton also earned all-league honors at Mountain View High School and was part of a CCS Championship team.
De'Undrae Perteete "Dre" Perteete, a 6-foot-5 guard, comes to UC Riverside after a stellar freshman campaign at Westmont College, where he was named PacWest Freshman of the Year. Perteete started all 27 games and averaged 10.6 points, shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the line. He logged over 35 minutes per game and finished with 306 total points, including 16 games in double figures. His season was highlighted by a 34-point explosion at Azusa Pacific.
"De'Undrae is a true competitor and dedicated to helping his team compete at the highest level which he has shown since he starred for Salesian HS and Coach Bill Mellis two seasons ago," said coach Argenal. "He is an extremely versatile player on both ends with great size and athleticism. He impacts the game in a variety of ways with his ability to score, rebound, and make plays for others. He is a great fit for the UC Riverside community and the Highlander fans are going to love him!"
Perteete also contributed 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 29 steals. On January 2 against Chaminade, he set season highs with 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.
With the addition of Kolly, Daniel-Dalton, and Perteete, the Highlanders continue to build a balanced and battle-tested roster prepared to make noise in the Big West.
