RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Highlanders delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season, but fell 76-68 to UC Santa Barbara at the SRC Arena.
The Highlanders controlled the first half with poise and precision, building a 35-29 halftime lead behind 61.9 percent shooting from the field. UC Riverside established its presence early in the paint, shared the ball effectively and defended with discipline to carry momentum into the break.
Andrew Henderson led the Highlanders with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a strong two-way performance. Jailen Daniel-Dalton recorded 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, anchoring the interior on both ends. Marqui Worthy Jr. contributed 14 points and dished out four assists, while De'Undrae Perteete Jr. added nine points and knocked down three of his four attempts from beyond the arc.
UC Riverside finished the game shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three-point range, The Highlanders also totaled 18 assists and matched Santa Barbara with 32 paint points.
The Highlanders are on the road this Saturday, February 15th as they take on UC San Diego for a 7pm tipoff.
