Highlanders Close Second Day of Mary Nutter with Loss to San Diego State

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. — UC Riverside opened play at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Thursday afternoon, falling to San Diego State, 8-0, at Big League Dreams Cathedral City.

The Highlanders were limited to two hits in the contest, with Eta Lauti and Leilani Juan each recording singles. UC Riverside threatened in the first inning when Lauti singled to third base, and Juan added a base hit in the second, but the Highlanders were unable to generate further offense.

San Diego State went on to score eight runs across the final four innings to secure the victory.
