RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Highlanders showed fight to the final horn and made a strong second-half push, but UC Davis edged the UC Riverside, 78-73.

Andrew Henderson paced UC Riverside with 22 points and four rebounds, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers and going 8-for-10 at the line. De'Undrae Perteete Jr. added 12 points and three assists, while Marqui Worthy Jr. scored 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

The Highlanders got a big lift from Dylan Godfrey off the bench, as the guard finished with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting and hit two 3s. Ben Waller chipped in 10 points and capped a late surge with a 3-pointer in the final seconds.

After shooting 25.9 percent in the first half, UC Riverside flipped the rhythm coming out of the break, going 14-for-28 (50.0 percent) in the second half while continuing to attack the rim and get to the foul line. The Highlanders also battled on the glass, finishing with 41 rebounds and 13 offensive boards to generate 12 second-chance points.

UC Riverside is on the road next Thursday, February 26th as they take on UC Santa Barbara for a 6pm tip off.
