Highlander Duo Selected for Big West Honors

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Highlanders men's basketball standouts Andrew Henderson and Marqui Worthy Jr. earned 2025-26 Big West postseason recognition, as announced by the conference. Henderson was named to the All-Big West Second Team, while Worthy Jr. received honorable mention.

Henderson put together a standout senior season for the Highlanders, leading the team in scoring at 18.1 points per game while totaling 579 points in 32 appearances. He also added 156 rebounds, 65 assists, 27 blocks and 29 steals, while knocking down a team-high 86 3-pointers. In Big West play, Henderson averaged 19.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

His season was highlighted by a 39-point performance against Cal Poly on Jan. 31, when he also set season highs in minutes played (40), field goals made (17) and field goal attempts (31). Henderson also made a season-best seven 3-pointers at New Mexico on Nov. 11, grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds against Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 17 and posted season highs of five assists and five steals against CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 19. He added a season-best three blocks at St. Thomas on Dec. 20.

Worthy Jr. also turned in an impressive season, starting all 32 games and averaging 16.4 points per contest. He scored 524 total points and contributed 149 rebounds, a team-best 96 assists and 42 steals. During conference play, Worthy Jr. averaged 18.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, helping pace the Highlanders on both ends of the floor.

Worthy Jr.'s season highs included a 38-point outing against CSUN on Feb. 28, when he also set season bests in minutes played (40), field goals made (12) and free throws made (11). He knocked down a season-high five 3-pointers at CSUN on Feb. 7, pulled down a season-best nine rebounds at Long Beach State on Jan. 15 and dished out a season-high seven assists against North Dakota on Nov. 15. He also recorded a season-best four steals at CSUN.

The duo helped lead UC Riverside throughout the 2025-26 season, giving the Highlanders two representatives among the conference's postseason honorees.
