RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped the first game of a three game set to Cal Poly, 22-4. The Mustangs scored in each of the first five innings, including an eight run fifth to top UCR this afternoon.
The Highlanders pushed their first run across in the bottom of the fourth on a RBI groundout by
Ty Walton. UCR scored twice in the sixth on a two-run homer by
Jarren Sanderson. The righty then belted his second homer of the game in the bottom of the ninth.
Joshua Martinz,
Justin Dougan and
David Whittle combined for four innings pitched and gave up only two hits and no runs.
Game two is tomorrow afternoon at 1PM.
