FULLERTON, Calif. — UC Riverside closed its series at Cal State Fullerton on Friday night, falling 15-1 at Anderson Family Field.
The Highlanders struck first in the opening inning. Rebeca Cabezas drew a walk, Haley Saole and Amaree Arellano followed with walks of their own, and Trinity Munoz brought home the game's first run with an RBI walk.
UC Riverside continued to battle at the plate, drawing seven walks in the contest. Cabezas reached base three times with three walks, while Arellano added a pair of walks. Eta Lauti was also hit by a pitch and reached base in the second inning. The Highlanders also turned a double play in the second inning.
Cal State Fullerton scored nine runs in the first inning, added two more in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth.
The Highlanders return to John C. Funk Stadium on Thursday, April 16, to face California Baptist at 6 p.m.
