Highlander Baseball Announces Wallis' First Signing Class

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside baseball announced its 2026 signing class under first year head coach Gregg Wallis. Eighteen players will head to the IE and suit up for the Highlanders in 2027.

"In a short time this summer we were able to sign 18 talented student-athletes that will help elevate the program immediately," said Wallis. "The theme with these players has been high academic profile, spring season performance, and winning high school or JC programs.

We are confident this will translate to success at UCR and can't wait to start our fall training."

Kyle Casey | LHP | Simi Valley, Calif. | Simi Valley HS
The freshman lefty stands in at 6-1, 170 pounds and was an All-County Coastal League – Pitcher of the Year selection in 2025. In the classroom he received the school's Academic Excellence Award all four years in high school.

Rahul Patel | RHP/INF | San Jose, Calif. | Valley Christian HS
The freshman righty comes to the IE from Northern California where he posted a 2.56 ERA in 41IP his senior season. In 2026 he helped guide Valley Christian to the CCS Division 1 title and the NorCal Division 1 title.

Charles Veley | RHP | Corte Madera, Calif. | College of Marin
The righty is coming to the IE from the College of Marin where he was a two-time all-conference selection. He prepped at Redwood HS where in 2024 Veley helped guide his squad to a league championship.

AJ Logsdon | SS | Apple Valley, Calif. | Riverside Prep
Logsdon stays close to home in the IE coming from Riverside Prep. The switch-hitting shortstop was named the 2026 Riverside Prep Athlete of the Year. He was a four-time first team all-league shortstop and is the career leader at Riverside Prep in hits and runs, and also owns the single season home run record.

Aiden Medina | INF | Fresno, Calif. | College of the Sequoias
The Central California product heads to Southern California after two seasons at College of the Sequoias. In his two seasons at COS he played in 75 games and hit .269. In his sophomore campaign he slashed .303/.386/.388.

Jayden McNeal | SS | Roseville, Calif. | West Park HS
Prepped at West Park High School where he was selected as Metro Athletic Conference MVP.

Ryan Oaks | LHP | Fontana, Calif. | CSUN
Oaks heads home to the IE after a short stint at CSUN. Oaks prepped at Summit HS where he was a two-time team pitcher of the year (2024 / 2025) and in 2025 was named Sunkist League Pitcher of the Year (2025). In that 2025 season he posted a 0.90 ERA with 87 strikeouts in 60 IP.

AJ Frausto | RHP | Placentia, Calif. | San Diego
The righty played his high school ball at El Dorado HS where he earned All-Century League First Team honors as a junior and All-Century League Second Team honors as a senior. As a freshman at San Diego he made 12 appearances for the Toreros and struck out 14 in 14.1 IP.

Adonis Jenkins IV | OF | Porter Ranch, Calif. | Glendale Community College
The outfielder heads to the IE after playing two seasons at Glendale CC. In his sophomore campaign he slashed .335/.416/486 in 41 games. He hit five homers and drove in 33. He prepped at Bishop Alemany (Mission Hills, Calif.) where he was a Mission League All-Conference selection his senior year.

Vance Haskins | RHP | Clements, Calif. | Delta College
The righty heads to the IE after spending last season at Delta College. He appeared in 15 games with 14 starts and posted a 7-3 record and a 4.12 ERA. He threw 74.1 innings and struck out 73. He prepped at Lodi High School where he was an all-league selection his junior and senior seasons.

Aiden Chapuis | LHP | Lake Forest, Calif. | Mission Viejo HS
The southpaw heads to the IE after a solid career for the Diablos. During his time at Mission Viejo he was an all-league selection and league MVP.

Brady Pavlovsky | RHP | Temecula, Calif. | Riverside Community College
Pavlovsky heads to UCR after pitching for RCC. He made 14 appearance, all in relief, throwing 15.1 innings and posting a 3.52 ERA. During his time pitching for the Tigers he competed in the California State Playoffs. He prepped at Chaparral HS.

Benji O'Rourke | C | Delta College
O'Rouke comes to the IE via Delta College in Stockton, Calif. The catcher was part of a 2x Conference Championship team, named 1st Team All-Conference and a CCCBCA All-American. Last season, he played in 25 games, hit .292 and drove in 14.

Luke Van de Braak | SS | San Francisco, Calif. | St Ignatius College Preparatory
The shortstop heads to the IE from the Bay Area where he also competed on the SI football team where in 2005 they won the CIF State title.

Quinn Robertson | RHP | Scottsdale, Ariz. | South Mountain CC
Robertson heads to Riverside at South Mountain. While there he was part of back-to-back conference champs and back-to-back district champs. In his two seasons he made 26 appearances and pitcher 51.2 innings.

Caleb Garrison | RHP | Concord, Calif. | Laney College
The righty heads to UC Riverside via Laney College. Last season, he made 19 appearances with five starts and posted a 4-4 record. He threw 57.2 innings and recorded 33 strikeouts. He was a 2026 Bay Valley 2nd Team All-Conference selection.

Raymond Grassa | LHP | San Diego, Calif. | Mt. Carmel High School
Grassa heads to UCR after a successful career at Mt. Carmel. In 2026 Mt. Carmel advanced to the CIF San Diego Section Division 1 Championship where they lost to Madison. In 2025 he was part of a Mt. Carmel team that won the section division two championship. In 2026 he was a SD High School All-Star selection.

Barrett Ronson | 1B/OF | Corona, Calif. | Santa Ana College
Ronson heads to UC Riverside after stops at Saint Mary's (CA) and Santa Ana College. Last season, at Santa Ana, Ronson played in 46 games and slashed .349/.491/.602. He drove in 39 runs and hit nine home runs. He prepped at Santiago HS and was a two time first team all-league selection, a First Team All-CIF selection (2023) and First Team All-Inland Empire.
