UC Riverside

Don Parnell made his return to UC Riverside in the summer of 2015 as the director of baseball operations.

After beginning his coaching career as the Head Coach at Bloomington HS (Colton JUSD)  he moved on to the college ranks at UC Riverside, where he served under Hall of Fame Coach Jack Smitheran and coached current Highlanders Head Coach Troy Percival during his tenure from 1988-91.

In 1992, Parnell accepted the job as head baseball coach at Cal State San Bernardino, and remained there until 2015. While at CSUSB, Parnell served on the American Baseball Coaches All-American Committee (99-05), as well as the NCAA West Region (DII) Selection Committee (00-04), and received the Distinguished Service award from American Baseball Coaches Association in 2006.

On the field, Parnell's teams were ranked eight times in the West Region top 8. He coached over 35 All West Region players and more than 40 of his players were drafted by professional teams.

Don served as associate athletic director/head baseball coach at CSUSB from 2008 to 2013, and he is the All-time wins leader in CSUSB baseball history.

Don lives in Yucaipa with his wife Valerie, and has two children, Eric and Andrea, as well as one grand child, Logan
