Eddie Cornejo

Eddie Cornejo joined the Highlanders baseball coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in January of 2011 following successful playing and coaching stops throughout the country.

Cornejo played professional baseball for the Oakland Athletics organization from 2003-08 where he was part of two championships while playing for the Triple A Sacramento Rivercats and Single A Modesto A’s. He was also with the Colorado Rockies organization in 2008.

Cornejo transferred and became an All-Region and All-Big 12 performer at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2003.

Prior to Oklahoma, Cornejo was an All-American at Riverside City College and was part of two state championships in 2000 and 2001. Cornejo returned to RCC where he was the Associate Head Coach in 2009 and the Interim Head Coach for Dennis Rogers in 2010.

The Jurupa Valley High School product is currently pursuing his master’s degree in education and kinesiology at CSU San Bernardino.

In his free time, Cornejo enjoys traveling internationally, exercising, camping, reading, and spending time with his family.

Cornejo and his wife, Melissa, reside in Rancho Cucamonga.
