Brett Lauer

Brett Lauer joined the UC Riverside Men's Basketball Coaching Staff in July of 2015 after four seasons as head assistant coach under Ken Ammann at Concordia University in Irvine, California.
 
The Eagles went a combined 100-38 during his time with the program, appearing in three NAIA National Tournaments, and winning the 2011-12 National Championship. Lauer played a major role in the success of the program during his time there; recruiting and coaching seven All-Conference players and six NAIA All-Americans.
 
Prior to his time at Concordia, Lauer spent two years as an assistant at Citrus College in Glendora, California. In his first year at Citrus, the Owls made it to the Final Four, and in his second year, they advanced to the state championship. During the two years that he was at Citrus College, he coached 23 players that went on to play at the four-year level.
 
Lauer played two seasons at UC Irvine and sank 113 career three-pointers in his time with the Anteaters. In his career, he shot 45% from three-point range and 82% from the free throw line. During his senior season, he led the Big West Conference in three-point shooting percentage at 50.4 percent. Lauer currently holds the fifth best three point shooting percentage in Big West history.
 
Brett graduated from UC Irvine in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.  He completed his master's degree in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia in 2014.
 
He and his wife, Shannon, have two sons, Cash and Bodie.
