Dustin Yoder enters his second season on UC Riverside's men's basketball staff in 2023-24 after being named one of Silver Waves Media's Top 75 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants in May of 2023.
Yoder came to UCR from Southeast Missouri after spending two seasons as associate head coach at nearby Cal State San Bernardino.
Prior to Cal State San Bernardino, Yoder worked the 2017-18 campaign as an assistant coach under Andy Newman at the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB). That year was a historic season for the UTPB Falcons which tied a school record for most wins in a season (26) and made the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history.
Before his short stint at UTPB, Yoder was at Kansas State for five years under Head Coach Bruce Weber. He was promoted to video coordinator on the KSU staff after spending the 2012-13 season as a graduate assistant.
Yoder was instrumental in helping K-State to 100 wins and three NCAA Tournament appearances in those five seasons, one of which included the school’s first-ever Big 12 regular-season title in 2012-13.
Initially, Yoder went to K-State in August 2012 after one year as an assistant coach at Parkland Junior College in Champaign, Illinois. Previously, he spent three years (2008-11) as a student manager for Weber at Illinois, including working as head manager in 2010-11.
Yoder was a two-year letterwinner at Lake Land Junior College in Mattoon, Illinois under Hall of Fame Coach Jim Dudley and Dr. Cedric Brown.
The all-time leading scorer (1,517 points) at Okaw Valley High School, Yoder graduated from Illinois in May 2011 with a degree in Kinesiology. He completed his Master’s in College Student Development and Academic Advising at Kansas State in 2014.
