Former Shasta College head coach Bruce Hansen joined the UC Riverside staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2001.

Hansen was the head women's coach at Shasta from 1997 to 1999, leaving the program to pursue his master's degree in sports psychology at Cal State Fullerton.

He played collegiately at Humboldt State from 1992 to 1994, and earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts in 1995. He also played for one year in England with Tiptree United from 1990-91.

Hansen attended Enterprise High School in Redding, CA, graduating in 1989. He was named team MVP during his final campaign.

Hansen, who is single and resides in Fullerton,enjoys playing chess and riding his motorcycle in his free time. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
