Cody Worden

Cody Worden joined the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Coaching Staff as an assistant in August of 2015, bringing with him an extensive résumé which includes time as a player, coach and academy director.

Worden also serves as the pre-development academy director for the U8-U13 age groups for FC Golden State, while assisting with the program's U14, U16 and U18 USSDA teams.

During the two years prior to his joining FC Golden State, Worden was the director of the U12-U14 boys soccer programs with Diablo FC, and the director of East Bay Youth RDC for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes. He also coached the Diablo FC U15 and U18 squads. The U15 boys were ranked as high as ninth in the nation, and the U18s were ranked as high as 19th.

His coaching stops include stints at Saint Mary's College, where he was the lead assistant with the Gaels from 2007-10, and Dominican University where he was the associate head coach of both the Men's and Women's Soccer Teams.

In his four seasons at Saint Mary's, SMC experienced a number of firsts including its first 10-win season, first NCAA Division I Tournament appearance, and first back-to back 10-win seasons.

Prior to that, Worden was an assistant coach at the University of Texas at Dallas when the Comets advanced to the conference tournament in two consecutive years.

At UTD, Worden doubled as the recruiting coordinator and goalkeeper coach. During that time, the native of Fort Worth, Texas also served as the goalkeeper coach for the Dallas-Fort Worth Tornadoes of the Premier Development League.

Worden has a United States Soccer Federation National "A" License and a National Goalkeeper License. He is married (Emily), has two dogs named Gordon and Eleanor.
