Matt Chen joined the UC Riverside Sports Medicine Staff in August of 2022.

Prior to UCR, Matt worked at Sonoma State University as an assistant athletic trainer working primarily with men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, and baseball. He also spent time as a part-time athletic trainer at Santa Ana College as well as a summer intern for the Los Angeles Rams.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State University, Northridge in 2018. He went on to pursue his graduate’s degree in Athletic Training from California Baptist University in 2020. He became a NATA BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in July 2020.
