Zamarie Grayson

Zamarie Grayson joined UC Riverside as the department's Compliance Coordinator in January 2026. 

Grayson comes to UCR with a wealth of high-profile experience in the professional sports world. In addition to her most recent position as an Impact & Culture Fellow with the New Orleans Pelicans, Grayson has also held roles with the NWSL’s Washington Spirit, the NFL Players Association, the MASL’s Ontario Fury (now Empire Strykers), and Wasserman, a global sports, music, and entertainment company based in Los Angeles. 

While obtaining her undergraduate degree at Howard University, Grayson served as a recruitment team member for the Bison’s football program and as a student worker in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Dean’s Office. 

Here in the Inland Empire, Grayson was a civic engagement intern for the BLU Educational Foundation and a legal intake intern for the Inland Empire Latino Lawyers Association, Inc. 

Grayson has presented research on various topics within college athletics, including NIL issues impacting HBCU student-athletes while highlighting disparities in policy implementation, contract negotiation, and athlete representation. She also developed recommendations for policy enhancement, risk mitigation, and equitable NIL frameworks aligned with Title IX and NCAA guidelines.

Grayson earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a double minor in Spanish and Strategic Legal Management Communications from Howard University in May of 2025, and is currently working towards her Master of Studies in Law from USC.
