UCR Volleyball Falls to Fullerton 3-0

After battling Cal State Fullerton (13-13, 6-5) to a marathon fifth set loss earlier in the season, the UC Riverside volleyball team (8-17, 3-7) again faced off against the Titons but lost 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21) on Saturday evening in Fullerton.

Trailing 16-9 in the first, UCR rallied back to within one, 17-16, on an Amy Read (Fresno, CA) kill before CSF pulled away for the win. The Highlanders were within two points late in the second set, 18-16, but could not stop a Titon rally as they scored six consecutive points to take set two. In the third set, UCR was again down 16-9 but pulled to within three at 22-19 before Fullerton won the set and match.

Kelly Fink (San Dimas, CA) led UCR with a team-high 7 kills and 11 digs, while Dominique Cowling (Benicia, CA) added five kills and a team-high 13 digs.

UCR is at home next weekend as they continue Big West Conference play against Pacific on Friday, Nov. 7 and UC Davis on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:00 pm at the Student Recreation Center in Riverside.
