UC Riverside vs. Berry College Game Notes
The UC Riverside Men’s Basketball Team returns home to the Student Recreation Center this week for a Wednesday, December 16 meeting with the Berry College Vikings. Tip is scheduled for 7 pm PT, and fans can listen to all the action as The Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
The Highlanders are coming off of a 68-56 loss at Northern Arizona that ended UCR’s five-game winning streak. UC Riverside is still in possession of an eight-game home winning streak, however. The last time the Highlanders dropped a game at the SRC was on January 29, 2009 when UC Irvine walked away with a 71-66 win.
This is the first meeting ever between the Highlanders and Vikings, however UC Riverside did once play Berry’s homophonic counterpart Barry University back on January 2, 1988 coming away with a 91-60 win.
The Vikings, who hail from Mount Berry, Georgia, are at the tail end of a two-game swing that began Tuesday evening at Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego. They boast three double-figure scorers in Will Blackwell (18.4), Tim Miles (13.6) and Lee Trebotich (10.3)
