UC Riverside vs. Montana Game Notes
The Highlanders got back on the winning track Wednesday evening as Brandon Dowdy (pictured) led UC Riverside with 14 points in an 85-53 win over Berry College. The victory ran UCR's home winning streak to nine in a row.
The road, however, has been less kind to UC Riverside of late as they are 1-3 on the season away from the friendly confines of the Student Recreation Center. The Highlanders play at Montana Saturday, December 19 and at Southern Utah on Monday, December 21 before breaking for the holidays. Tip in Missoula, Montana is scheduled for 6 pm PT and fans can listen to all the action as The Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
UCR and Montana first squared off against one another back in the mid-90s, but they renewed their rivalry a year ago with the Highlanders winning 58-53 at the Student Reecreation Center.
The Grizzlies are coming off of a 57-43 win over MSU Northern which ran their record to 7-4 on the season. Montana started out the year by winning its first four games, and has been alternating wins and losses ever since.
The Grizz are led by two double-digit scorers in Anthony Johnson (17.9) and Brian Qvale (12.7). They are followed by five players averaging between 5.0 and 7.0 points.
